  • Chasing Sunsets at Wied iż-Żurrieq: Electronic Music on the Coast, 24 October

Chasing Sunsets at Wied iż-Żurrieq: Electronic Music on the Coast, 24 October

Some of Malta’s best views are on its south coast, and that is exactly where the next Chasing Sunsets is heading. The series takes over Wied iż-Żurrieq on Saturday 24 October 2026, from 14:00 until midnight.

    What is Chasing Sunsets?

Chasing Sunsets is a travelling party that moves between some of Malta’s most striking outdoor locations. The idea is simple: great scenery, carefully selected electronic music, and the moment when day turns into night. As the sun disappears beyond the horizon, the music takes over and the evening builds from there.

Starting at 14:00 gives you a full afternoon in the sun before the main event, the sunset itself, with the party carrying on into the night until 00:00.

    Why Wied iż-Żurrieq

Wied iż-Żurrieq is a small inlet on Malta’s southern coast, best known as the starting point for boat trips to the Blue Grotto. The organisers picked it for its dramatic cliffs and crystal-blue Mediterranean water, which make a natural backdrop for watching the sun go down over the sea.

Late October is a good time for it too: the summer heat has eased, but the evenings are still mild enough to stay outdoors after dark.

    Event details

    • Date: Saturday 24 October 2026
    • Time: 14:00 to 00:00
    • Venue: Wied iż-Żurrieq
    • Organiser: Tenishia

    Tickets

Tickets are on sale now on Eventworks:

    • Early Bird: €15
    • 2nd Batch: €20

Prices exclude booking fee. Early bird tickets are the cheapest way in, so book before they sell out.

    Planning your day

Wied iż-Żurrieq is a small coastal spot and parking nearby is limited, so share a car, take a taxi or use a ride-hailing app, especially for the trip home at midnight. Bring a layer for later in the evening, as it can get cooler by the sea once the sun has set. If you arrive early, the area’s cliff-top viewpoints are worth a look before the music starts.

Remember that the clocks go back one hour overnight, in the early hours of Sunday 25 October, so you get an extra hour of sleep after the party.

  • Malta Rugby at Home: Sweden on 14 November and Czechia in February

Malta Rugby at Home: Sweden on 14 November and Czechia in February

Malta’s season in the Rugby Europe Men’s Trophy brings two more home games to the Tony Bezzina Stadium in Paola: Malta v Sweden on Saturday 14 November 2026 and Malta v Czechia on Saturday 27 February 2027. Both start at 13:00.

    The fixtures

    • Saturday 14 November 2026, 13:00: Malta v Sweden, Tony Bezzina Stadium, Paola
    • Saturday 27 February 2027, 13:00: Malta v Czechia, Tony Bezzina Stadium, Paola

They follow Malta v Germany on 7 November, so November brings two home internationals in eight days.

    Why these games matter

Malta won promotion to the Trophy in May 2026, beating Austria 39-13 in the access play-off at Ta’ Qali. This season they face Czechia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and Lithuania in the division below the Rugby Europe Championship.

Czechia are the defending Trophy champions, which makes the February game the toughest test of Malta’s home campaign. Sweden arrive a week after Germany, giving the home crowd a quick chance to see how the team has settled into the higher level.

    Tickets

Unlike the free Germany match, these two games are ticketed:

    • Adult: €20
    • Child (under 16): €5
    • 2 Match Combo, Adult: €30 (Sweden and Czechia)
    • 2 Match Combo, Child (under 16): €8 (Sweden and Czechia)

Prices exclude booking fee. Special Needs Entry is free, and the ticket is only valid when you show your Blue Card at the gate. The combo is the best value if you plan to go to both, saving €10 per adult.

    New to rugby?

Each side fields 15 players over two 40-minute halves. A try is worth five points and the conversion that follows adds two, while penalty kicks and drop goals are worth three. You do not need to know much more than that to enjoy the afternoon.

    FAQ

    When is Malta v Sweden?

Saturday 14 November 2026 at 13:00, at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in Paola.

    When is Malta v Czechia?

Saturday 27 February 2027 at 13:00, at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in Paola.

    How much are tickets?

€20 for adults and €5 for children under 16 per match, plus booking fee. A combo for both matches is €30 for adults and €8 for children, plus booking fee.

Is the Germany match also ticketed?

Malta v Germany on 7 November is free, but you still need a General Entry ticket from Eventworks.

  • White Christmas at Tigullio: Alex Tonna’s 80s, 90s and 2000s Party

White Christmas at Tigullio: Alex Tonna’s 80s, 90s and 2000s Party

Christmas party season is almost here. DJ Alex Tonna is hosting White Christmas, The White Edition at Tigullio in Spinola Bay, St Julian’s, on Saturday 12 December 2026: a festive night of non-stop dancing to the biggest hits of the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

    What to expect

The night runs under Alex Tonna’s Bailando banner, and the idea is simple: the songs everyone knows, played back to back, in a room dressed up for Christmas. Expect:

    • DJ Alex Tonna on the decks all night
    • A playlist of 80s, 90s and 2000s classics
    • A White Christmas setting with festive lights and decorations
    • A night built for celebrating with friends, colleagues or your partner

It is an easy pick for a group night out before the holidays, and a good alternative to the usual office party.

    Dress code: wear white

This is The White Edition, so the organisers are asking everyone to come dressed in their White Christmas best. White outfits, a bit of sparkle and some festive glamour all fit the theme.

    Date, time and venue

    • Date: Saturday 12 December 2026
    • Time: 21:30 until 04:00
    • Venue: Tigullio, Spinola Bay, Triq Mikiel Ang Borg, St Julian’s

    Planning your night

Tigullio sits on the water at Spinola Bay, in the heart of St Julian’s, so it is easy to start with dinner at one of the bay’s restaurants and walk over once doors open at 21:30. The party runs until 04:00, which makes it a full night out rather than a quick stop.

Parking around Spinola Bay and Paceville is hard to find on a December Saturday, so a taxi, ride-hailing app or the bus is the simpler way to get there and back. If you are coming as a group, buy your tickets together so everyone is sorted before the night.

December weekends fill up fast in Malta, with office parties and family plans competing for the same dates. Booking early means one less thing to think about once the Christmas rush starts.

    Tickets

    • Standard: €10
    • VIP: €15

    Prices exclude booking fee.

  • Bring It Back Christmas Special: 2000s and 2010s Throwbacks at Gianpula

Bring It Back Christmas Special: 2000s and 2010s Throwbacks at Gianpula

The throwback party is getting festive. Bring It Back: Christmas Special takes over the Gianpula Main Room at Gianpula Village on Saturday 12 December 2026, from 22:00 until 04:00.

    What to expect

Bring It Back is all about the 2000s and 2010s: the anthems you grew up with, the lyrics you still know by heart and the club hits that never got old. For the Christmas edition, the organisers promise the same iconic hits with a little festive magic on top, from after-school favourites to the bangers that filled dance floors a decade or two ago.

If you have been to a Bring It Back night before, you know the drill: pure nostalgia, a room full of people singing along, and no pressure to know what is in the charts right now. If you have not, a December Saturday in one of Malta’s best-known club rooms is a good place to start.

    Who it is for

This is a night for anyone who spent their teenage years with these songs on repeat, whether that was on a burnt CD, an MP3 player or an early streaming playlist. Expect a crowd that knows every chorus and is happy to prove it. It works just as well for a group of friends catching up before the holidays as it does for a big Christmas night out with colleagues.
